Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about who we are, how we work, and where your money goes.

Medaria Aid is a registered UK charity (Charity No. 1204225), founded in 2022 by two mothers - one in the United Kingdom, one in Australia - whose sons crossed the border into Ukraine as foreign volunteers. They found each other in the fear and the sleepless nights, and refused to do nothing. What began as a completely grassroots operation grew into three years of sustained aid work, and after taking over the stewardship of an established registered charity, Ukraine-Aid.info, they officially renamed it Medaria Aid. All medical aid is sourced and dispatched from the UK, and administration runs from Australia. Medaria Aid has since grown to include a US-based trustee who supports governance and helps grow our reach among American donors.
Yes. Medaria Aid, a registered charity in England and Wales (Charity Commission Registration No. 1204225). You can verify our registration at the official Charity Commission register.
100% of your donation is directed toward Ukraine. We run on the leanest model possible - our only overheads are minimal essential costs like our registered charity address - so the overwhelming majority of every pound funds life-saving aid directly. All medical supplies are procured in the UK and shipped via trusted courier partners to frontline units in Ukraine. Every shipment is documented, and we provide photographic confirmation of delivery. We maintain full transparency and are subject to Charity Commission oversight.
As a registered UK charity, we are legally required to maintain full financial records and submit annual reports to the Charity Commission. Beyond legal requirements, we are committed to photographing every shipment and sharing proof of delivery with our donor community. We post updates on our social media channels (Facebook, TikTok, Instagram) showing aid in the field. If you have a specific question about a donation, please contact us directly.
We deliver a wide range of aid including: medical supplies (Cat C tourniquets, IFAK kits, trauma dressings, stretchers, full medic bags), medevac vehicles (4WD evacuation vehicles and medically outfitted quad bikes), emergency power equipment (generators, power banks), warm clothing and blankets for winter conditions, food and humanitarian supplies for displaced civilians, and support for war orphans. See our Store page for a full list of items we fund.
Absolutely - we welcome supporters from anywhere in the world. Our primary donor communities are in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, but we accept donations from supporters globally. You can donate via bank transfer directly to our HSBC UK charity account (details available on request - email us at medariaaid@gmail.com), or through our JustGiving and Give As You Live pages. No matter where you are - your solidarity with Ukraine is welcome and valued.
At this stage, tax relief is available for UK residents only through Gift Aid. If you are a UK taxpayer, you can Gift Aid your donation, which allows us to claim an additional 25p for every £1 you donate at absolutely no extra cost to you - just indicate this when donating. For donors in the United States, Australia, or other countries, we are not currently registered for tax-deductible giving in those jurisdictions. We are working to expand this in the future. Contact us if you need a donation receipt for any purpose.
There are several ways to support us beyond financial donations: Share our posts on social media to raise awareness. Help us source or procure specific supplies. If you have logistics expertise or connections in Ukraine or supply chains, we'd love to hear from you. Corporate partnerships and bulk sponsorships are also available - see our Sponsors page. Visit our Volunteer page for more.
You can reach us via the contact form on our Contact page, by emailing medariaaid@gmail.com, or through our social media channels on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram. We aim to respond to all enquiries within 2 business days.
